Jazz BassRamp for MarkBass GV5(and similar models)

Custom-designed Bass Ramp for 5-string bass guitars (specifically tailored for the MarkBass MB GV5). It improves plucking efficiency and speed by preventing fingers from digging too deep between the strings.

This is a custom-designed Bass Ramp made for a MarkBass MB GV5 (5-string) bass guitar. However, it should also fit other bass guitars with a similar Jazz Bass pickup configuration and spacing.

Why use a Bass Ramp?

The ramp fills the empty gap between the pickups, creating a continuous, flat surface right under the strings. This is a game-changer for advanced and fast fingerstyle techniques (such as the Gary Willis style). It limits how deep your fingers can sink between the strings, allowing for a much lighter touch, faster recovery, and more consistent, fluid playing.

Installation

No drilling or modification to the guitar body is required! The easiest and safest way to mount it is by using thin double-sided tape (like 3M) underneath the ramp, securing it to the body between the pickups. It holds firmly during playing but can be removed cleanly at any time without damaging the finish.

Recommended Print Settings

The model is optimized to be sturdy while maintaining a smooth surface finish. Here are the settings I used:

• Material: PLA (Since instruments are kept indoors away from extreme heat, PLA provides excellent rigidity and dimensional stability).
• Orientation: Printed vertically (standing up) to ensure the top playing surface is smooth and free of stepped layer lines.
• Layer Height: 0.2 mm
• Wall Loops: 3 walls (for great exterior durability).
• Infill: Gyroid – provides excellent structural strength.
