Description

These collars are designed to neatly hide the gap between your wall and heating pipes. The two halves snap together firmly, so they appear like a single piece from some distance. Small elastic features on the inside help keep everything securely in place for a snug fit. It has a simple clean appearance on the outside and is a bit over-engineered on the inside.😅

SLICER

The download includes four similar 3MF files. They contain identical 3D geometry, but each file has been optimized with a different slicer software (Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer and Cura). Main reason is to ensure compatibility of the support blockers.

MODEL VARIATIONS

Inside the 3MF there are different collar versions to choose from. They vary in outer diameter and gap size. The larger versions can cover more uneven wall areas, while the smaller ones don’t require any support.

The two collars at the front of the build plate have tighter tolerance, which helps minimize visible gaps after snapping them together. However, these versions require good filament and a well-tuned printer. I also recommend opening and closing the collar a few times before installing it on a pipe. This slightly loosens the fit and makes removal easier.

If you have trouble with the tight versions, you may prefer the two with more loose gaps (back of the build plate). In the slicers object list, they have a "LOOSE" in their names.

I’d appreciate any feedback on which version worked best for you or if you ran into any issues.

PIPE DIAMETER

All collar models on the build plate are designed for a 18 mm pipe diameter. For other sizes, you could scale the models, but I recommend checking out my other uploads optimized for common radiator pipes with:

DIMENSIONS

  • For pipe diameter:  18 mm
  • Hight:  12 mm
  • Big cover outside:  80 mm
  • Small cover outside:  63 mm

PRINTING NOTES

  • PLA Filament works best
  • Good cooling recommended for clean overhangs
