Description
The solid modeled in Fusion 360 is the standard Muhefanggai.
1. How it's formed
Two cylinders of identical diameter with mutually perpendicular axes intersect.
The solid part where the two cylinders overlap and intersect is the Muhefanggai shown in the diagram.
2. Appearance features
• Front and side views: The outline is circular
• Top-down view: The outline is square
• Edges are smooth curved surfaces, no sharp corners
• A perfect sphere can be inscribed within it
3. Historical significance (briefly)
Ancient mathematician Liu Hui used it to calculate the volume of a sphere:
