Description

120mm training wheel for bike
120mm wheel for a child's bicycle
The wheel was designed for easy printing. The main body, the rim, is divided into 2 parts so that it can be printed without supports. The division of the rim also allows for the insertion of the tire, which will be printed with a flexible and softer material. In my case, I printed the rim in PLA and the tire in TPU 95A
The rim also features a shallow hole for inserting an 8mm hex screw
Assembly is simple: just take the rim with the shallow bottom and insert the tire, aligning the 3 traction guides, then insert the other part of the rim, aligning the 3 centering pins. The whole assembly can be glued with a specific adhesive
Depending on the wheel's application, glue is not always necessary; a nut and locknut might be sufficient to avoid using glue
ATTENTION, do not fully tighten the screw with the nut; leave at least half a millimeter of play to allow the wheel to rotate. For correct printing of the central hole, DO NOT resize the model
The wheel was designed for children's bikes, but I do not rule out its use for other applications, especially if the rim is printed with a more technical type of material
