I lost my magazine base plate a few years back and jerry rigged/bent a piece of copper pipe to hold the spring in but it was pretty bad, finally took the time and spent a number of hours making several iterations and multiple test pcs to get the right fit and easy printability.

I recommend to sand/file the front down a little bit to get rid of the sharp edges from the print plate surface (left it big for vertical printing so it has good horizontal strength and doesn't warp) I smoothed out the rest of the edges for a comfortable grip/feel in the hand. Also sized down the gas hole to fit a propane nozzle adapter but should fit a green gas nozzle no problem. I did this so it doesn't get caught on the spring clip unlike the base plate that originally came with the mag.
