Description
The 831 series railcars (until 1988 the M 262.1 series) were created by remotorizing older 830 series railcars. The reconstruction was carried out by ŽOS Šumperk (now Pars nova) between 1981 and 1991. The reason for installing the new drive unit was that the components for the original unit were no longer being produced.
