Description

All aboard the newest arrival in the 2222pzzls Vehicle Series

The Coal Train | Sequential Discovery Puzzle

Deep in the dusty hills, where steam and steel once ruled the tracks, rumors spread of a hidden Gold Nugget concealed somewhere within this mighty coal train. But reaching it will not be easy…

This sequential discovery puzzle invites you to think like a true gold prospector. Inspect every wagon, uncover hidden mechanisms, dismantle the locomotive piece by piece, and follow the trail through smoke, coal, and iron. Every discovery reveals another secret hidden within the train.

With its rugged old-world locomotive style and satisfying mechanical discoveries, the Coal Train is both a challenging puzzle and a striking display piece.

But one question remains…

Can YOU find the Gold Nugget?

hi I’m sorry, it was night time in our country so I just saw your comment. How did the escape room go? Pulling the pin is the last step (if the mid wheel assembly is slid to the front still). Pulling the pin releases the inner cabin compartment to shoot up, which holds the gold nugget

And here I was yesterday morning, wondering when your next jewel, similar to the firetruck, would be published.. And here it is! I had some trouble printing it, due to spaghetti detection caused by PLA Matte black (if like me you choose Matte over Basic, you'd better switch spaghetti detection to low, or turn it off completely for the black plate), but all in all the print went fine, although I had to rework all supports and brims as some pieces are quite tall and would have failed for sure with the PEI textured plate without increasing the brim and support adhesion. Anyway the result is beautiful, and I can't wait for my kids to try it! Many, many thanks for your hard work and this new gem in your collection. I'll provide more feedback if needed once I solve it!

I use cheap Chinese magnets and those work fine with all my designs. Stronger is always better but I test all my work with cheap magnets

the best answer would be via the Bill Of Materials on MakerWorld in the model page 😉But honest answer? AliExpress cheapest you can find also does the job. I use those because I need so much 🙈 They are strong enough

Another excellent puzzle! I love that you can’t tell it’s a puzzle by looking at it. There are definitely some puzzle mechanisms I haven’t seen anywhere else. Very slick. I had to look at the assembly instructions to reset the puzzle - there is a specific order which must be followed. i did have one issue - I used some very strong 2x6 magnets and some cheap 3x10 magnets. This caused one particular locking mechanism to have issues. I reprinted that part and used a cheaper 2x6 and everything was perfect. I don’t think that I would never be able to figure this out had I not assembled it myself. It is quite a challenge! Good luck!
