This is a DIY 3D printable motorized curtain system designed for automating standard curtain rail systems with a compact geared DC motor setup.
The project is built around a 12V 66 RPM L geared DC motor and a simple rechargeable Li-ion power system. The main body is designed as a clean 3D printed housing with side support blocks, locking curtain button connection points, and a compact motorized drive section.
This model is ideal for makers, DIY electronics projects, home automation experiments, and anyone who wants to build a simple automatic curtain opener using 3D printed parts and basic electronic components.
The design focuses on being compact, practical, and easy to assemble. It can be used as a starting point for different curtain automation setups, remote-controlled curtain systems, or smart home upgrade projects.
Required Components:
- 433 MHz Mini Transceiver Set
- 1 pc 12V 66 RPM L Geared DC Motor
- 1 pc 18650 Li-ion Battery, 3.7V 2450 mAh
- 1 pc Type-C Charging + Boost + Protection Module
- 2 pcs Closed Eye Screws
- 2 pcs Compression Springs
- 10 pcs M3 Screws
- 2 pcs M2 Screws
- 2 pcs Female-to-Male Jumper Wires
- Approx. 10 cm Red/Black Connection Wire
- 2 pcs Locking Curtain Buttons
Power System Note:
The Type-C module used in this project provides charging, voltage boost, and battery protection functions. If a standard boost converter is used instead of this module, a suitable BMS / protection circuit must also be used to ensure Li-ion battery safety.
