Bring the spirit of the high seas to your desk with this highly detailed bust of an Old Sailor. This model captures the rugged, weathered look of a seasoned mariner, featuring a classic pipe, a thick textured beard, a traditional beanie, and a detailed coat.
It is a perfect model for testing your printer's fine details, and it looks incredible as a standalone display piece or as a canvas for miniature painting!
đ ď¸ Recommended Print Settings
To get the best possible details (especially on the face, beard, and pipe), I recommend the following settings:
- Layer Height: 0.16mm or 0.12mm (for optimal detail retention).
- Infill: 10% - 15% (Gyroid or Grid recommended).
- Wall Loops: 3 (helps hide infill lines and ensures strong details).
- Supports: YES. Tree supports are highly recommended. Pay extra attention to the pipe, the chin/beard, and the coat lapels.
- Support Type: Tree (Auto) or Tree Slim for easy removal without damaging the details.
- Brim: Not required if your bed adhesion is good, but a small outer brim can help stabilize the base.
đ¨ Post-Processing & Painting
This model responds beautifully to post-processing. Because of the deep textures in the beard and clothing, applying a dark wash or dry-brushing after priming will instantly make all the details pop!
