TTC450 Ultra Levelling Cups and Spacer Discs

I designed these levelling cups and spacer discs for my TwoTrees TTC450 Ultra to make machine levelling easier, neater, and more stable.

The standard method of levelling the machine is to wind the adjustable feet in or out. This works, but if a foot needs to be extended quite a long way, it can leave the machine sitting on a long exposed thread. That can feel less secure, and the foot can become a little “flappy” because it is being supported by only a relatively short section of thread.

Instead of winding the feet out excessively, these printed cups allow the original machine feet to remain more securely fitted, while the machine height is adjusted using 1 mm spacer discs placed inside the cup. The machine foot sits in the remaining space in the cup, keeping it located and supported.

I printed the cups and spacer discs in TPU 95, which gives them a slightly grippy, non-slip feel. This helps the machine stay planted on the bench and reduces the chance of the feet sliding around during use.

The idea is simple:

  • Print four levelling cups.
  • Print as many 1 mm spacer discs as needed.
  • Add spacer discs into each cup to raise that corner of the machine.
  • Place the machine foot into the cup.
  • Adjust the number of discs until the machine is level.

This gives a cleaner and more controlled way to level the TTC450 Ultra without relying on long, extended machine feet.

Why This Is Better Than Winding the Feet Out

Using spacer discs inside the cups has several advantages:

The machine feet can remain screwed in more securely, rather than being wound out on a long exposed thread.

Each foot sits inside a cup, so it is located and supported rather than balancing on a small pad.

The 1 mm discs make levelling more repeatable, because height can be adjusted in known steps.

TPU 95 gives the cups a grippy base, helping to reduce movement on the bench.

The setup looks neater and feels more stable than having the original feet extended a long way.

The cups also make it easier to return to a known levelling setup if the machine is moved, because the number of discs used at each corner can be recorded.

Levelling Instructions

Print four cups and a selection of 1 mm spacer discs.

Place the CNC on the bench in its normal working position.

Start by levelling the machine front to back. This is easier than trying to adjust all four corners at once. Use a spirit level or digital level placed along the front-to-back direction of the frame.

I found the easiest method was to first place the cup onto the machine foot, then temporarily add spacer discs between the bottom of the cup and the benchtop. This lets you quickly test how many discs are needed without lifting the machine foot in and out each time.

Once the correct height is found, remove the cup, place the required number of spacer discs inside it, then put the cup back under the machine foot.

Repeat this process until the machine is level front to back.

After that, level the machine left to right. Again, add or remove 1 mm discs inside the cups until the machine sits level across the width of the frame.

Once both directions are correct, check the machine again front to back and left to right. Make any small final adjustments if needed.

Suggested Final Check

After levelling, gently push the machine frame to make sure all four feet are sitting firmly in their cups and that none of the corners are rocking.

The final result is a simple but useful improvement: the TTC450 Ultra sits level, the feet remain properly supported, and the machine feels more secure on the bench.
