Faux Stained Glass Iris Frame - 3D Print & UV Resin

This is a 3D printed frame designed to create a faux stained glass piece by adding colored UV resin after printing.

The iris and outer frame are joined together for an easy one-piece print. It prints flat and takes less than 2 hours on my setup. I have been printing mine with Bambu PLA Basic Black to get the stained glass outline effect.

This design was hand created by me without the use of AI.

Current Size:
155 x 215 mm
6.10" x 8.46"

You can rescale the file if needed, but keep in mind that smaller sizes may make the resin sections harder to fill neatly.

Please note:
This file is for the 3D printed frame only. UV resin, colorants, and finishing supplies are not included.

I also have a full-length detailed tutorial on YouTube showing how I add the UV resin to create the faux stained glass look.

Short process videos are also available on TikTok and YouTube.

This is a great little piece for practice and for a simple faux stained glass window sun catcher decoration. I used about 150 ml of uv resin with mine in many different colors to create a beautiful sun catcher. I placed it on a thin sheet of 4x5 plexiglass and glued it down by tracing all the lines with clear uv resin and curing that. This is a lot of really fun stuff, hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.

I’m really sorry I didn’t get any pictures of the completed project. everything was a video. it looks stunning. I used thermochromatic resin for the leaves and stem so if it’s a really hot day they will change color, I think that’s a pretty cool effect.
