Keep your drinks secure and spill-free on the road with this Self-Levelling Cup Holder! Designed to clip directly onto your car's air conditioning vents, this model uses a concentric ring gimbal design that actively levels your beverage as you accelerate, brake, or take sharp turns.

🛠️ Hardware Requirements (BOM)

You only need a couple of basic fasteners to put this together:

  • 2x M3 Screws (Minimum 18mm length)
    • Note on sizing: If you use exactly 18mm screws, they will be hidden completely inside the print for a clean look. You can still use 20mm or longer screws, but keep in mind that the longer they are, the more the threads will be visible on the other side.

🖨️ Printing & Material Recommendations

  • Material: PETG is highly recommended (and used in the pictured model). Car interiors get extremely hot during the summer, and standard PLA will warp or melt under the sun. PETG offers the perfect balance of temperature resistance and flexibility for the vent clip.
  • Supports: (Add your specific support recommendations here, e.g., Normal supports recommended for the overhanging clip ledge)
  • Infill: Recommend at least 20-30% for structural integrity, especially on the mounting arm.

🔧 Assembly Instructions

  1. Align the mounting arm bracket with the corresponding holes on the outer ring of the cup holder.
  2. Drive the two M3 screws through the top of the mounting bracket into the gimbal ring to secure it in place.
  3. Ensure the inner rings swing freely without catching.

⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNING: > Check your car's vent system before use! A full, heavy drink adds significant downward leverage. Ensure your specific car vent louvers are sturdy enough to hold the weight so you do not break or snap your vent system ledge. Use heavier insulated cups or large drinks with caution.
