Description
This 3D-printable traction aid is a newly designed spike/grip ring design I created for ECOVACS GOAT robotic lawnmower wheels. The ring is mounted on the outside of the drive wheel and improves grip on wet lawns, slight inclines, or loose ground
The design is functionally based on known stainless steel traction rings but is optimized for FDM 3D printing: flat design, large contact surface, 20 grippy outer claws, and countersunk screw holes (3 x 30 mm countersunk screws) for clean assembly
Ideal for anyone looking for a lightweight, quickly printable, and cost-effective alternative to stainless steel spikes

Print Recommendation
Recommended material: PETG, ASA, PA, or PA-CF
Not recommended: PLA for permanent outdoor use, as heat, UV, and moisture can reduce durability

For high stability, more walls or higher infill can be used, for example, 30–50% or 100% if the ring is subjected to heavy loads
Assembly Note
Typically, 2 rings are needed per robotic lawnmower, meaning one ring per drive wheel
The model has 5 countersunk holes per ring. Matching M3 countersunk screws 3 x 30 mm or similar screws with a flat countersunk head are recommended. Do not choose screws that are too long, to avoid damaging the wheel or internal components
