Hello,

Since I couldn't find a very practical thumb control for my RadioLink RC8X RC, I created this small part that will allow you to control your models with one hand.

It is lightweight so as not to add more weight to the RC8X, which is already very heavy.

The thumb recess is ergonomic and prevents the thumb from slipping, whether in the high or low position.

To install it, nothing could be simpler: remove the large central screw to disassemble the steering wheel. Behind that, remove the 3 screws to separate the foam part from the rotating base. Install the ring onto the rotating base, pressing it firmly so it doesn't spin. See the last photo for positioning. You can rotate it slightly by 1 or 2° to adjust it to your thumb size; test it before reassembling the two parts to ensure the trigger doesn't touch the "VR" knob in the high position. Once properly adjusted, replace the 3 screws and reassemble the steering wheel on the RC. Do not overtighten the screws, as it's hard plastic.

If you have set your RC to "left-handed" mode, simply perform an X or Y mirror inversion in Bambu Studio before printing.

There you go, as usual, feel free to post photos, comment, and tell me if there are things to improve…

And check out my other models… And give it a little thumbs up… 😉

Small update to the description, just to inform those who have the RadioLink carrying bag that the upper foam needs to be re-cut so that the thumb control can fit without breaking:

Edit 29/05/2026: I have added a profile that allows printing this part with a round section instead of a square one to accommodate the fingertip. Try it and see what works best for you.
