Boost Me (for free)

Did you know? MakerWorld gives out free Boost tokens to active users! These tokens can be used to support any model you love -- at no cost to you. You may not even know that you have Boost tokens. But they are a big help to creators. Please show your appreciation by boosting the models that you like.

Tame your tangled tech with this compact cord winder—designed specifically for the Pebble Smartwatch charging cable. One end is secured on top, while the rest coils neatly inside, keeping your workspace clean and your cables protected. Ideal for travel, desk organization, or just reclaiming sanity from cable chaos.

This specialized travel organizer features a custom-molded, press-fit socket tailored precisely for the OEM USB-A Pebble charging cable. It allows you to deploy only the exact length of cord required while keeping everything compact in your travel bag.

This model is NOT intended for the Pebble charging dongle that has a connector for a USB C cable. I am working on a design for that, and will add it here once it is ready.

Recommended Print Settings

  • Design Type: Print-in-Place
  • Wall Loops: 4
  • Infill: 15% Cubic
  • Layer Height: Variable Layer Height enabled
  • Supports: None (No supports required)

This model utilizes 4 wall loops to provide the print-in-place internal core and outer shell with the necessary structural integrity to handle continuous rotational torque. Activating variable layer height optimizes print efficiency while rendering smooth radial curves on the outer shell, guaranteeing seamless overhang transitions without the need for support material.

Recommended Filament & Materials

  • Primary Material: PETG (Recommended)
  • Alternative Materials: PLA, ASA, or any rigid filament
  • Hardware Required: None (100% 3D printed)
  • Optional Consumables: Light mechanical oil, silicone spray, or PTFE lubricant

While any rigid filament like PLA will yield a clean print, PETG is recommended for its mechanical resilience and superior wear resistance, preventing the internal rotating faces from fusing or degrading over extended use.

Assembly & Usage Instructions

  1. Cool Completely: Allow the print to cool entirely on the build plate before removal to prevent warping the internal tracks.
  2. Break the Seal: Gently push and pull the inner core relative to the outer ring to break the print-in-place tolerances free.
  3. Smooth Rotation: Spin the core in both directions. If you encounter resistance, apply a drop of silicone, Teflon, or light mechanical oil into the ring gap. The movement will become smoother the more it is used.
  4. Seat the Cable: Press-fit the magnetic charging clasp of your Pebble cable firmly into the dedicated top profile socket.
  5. Wind: Use the integrated finger grip on the inner core to wind up to 3 feet of cable into the protective housing.

Engineered with precise mechanical clearances, the interlocking internal tracks maximize storage volume within a compact footprint. The top socket relies on a tight engineering tolerance to lock the magnetic clasp securely in place without requiring adhesives or external fasteners.

This model uses a similar winding mechanism as this one:
