CR Ferret Accessories Adapter for 1/4"-20 Scanners

This model allows you to use CR-Scan Ferret accessories and mounting equipment with other 3D scanners equipped with a standard 1/4"-20 UNC photographic thread.

In my case, I upgraded to a Revopoint Inspire 2 scanner, but the included kit was very basic and lacked practical accessories for mobile scanning. Thanks to this adapter, I can fully reuse the original CR-Scan Ferret PowerGrip (power bank handle) with my new scanner.

The adapter was mainly designed to provide a stable handheld mounting solution for 3D scanning while allowing existing accessories to be reused instead of building an entirely new setup from scratch.

Important printing and assembly information:

• Recommended material: PET-G
• The model must be printed FLAT
• Supports are required
• Full Ironing is required

After printing, slight manual fitting using precision files may be necessary to perfectly match the CR-Scan Ferret mount.

This is not caused by poor design quality, but rather by the limited dimensional accuracy of FDM printing combined with the effects of full ironing on contact surfaces. Despite the additional fitting work, full ironing makes the printed part extremely rigid and durable — almost comparable to an injection-molded component.

A standard 1/4"-20 UNC screw should be used for assembly. (NOT M6!!!)

The thread was intentionally designed to be very tight, preventing the screw from loosening over time without the need for glue.

Recommended assembly method:

• tighten the screw using a flat wrench,
• cut off the screw head,
• then sand the surface flush.

When cutting the screw, water cooling is recommended to prevent overheating the thread and melting the printed part.
