This is something like the gauntlet (vambrace) worn by Kenichi, the protagonist in History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi.

2-3mm string, or wire (caution for injury), maybe even rubber?

The knotting method is still being experimented with. Please attach it to your hand by effectively using the loops.

If you change the orientation of just one piece that touches the back of the hand, it becomes easier to pass the string between the thumb and index finger.

(The loops on the back of the gauntlet should be oriented to gather towards the tips of your knuckles)
