Description

Overview

This is an adapter for attaching standard 37mm lens filters to the Wyze Cam v3 (known as the ATOM CAM 2 in Japan).

It is typically used in combination with a mount like this or this, where the camera is inserted and supported by the rim.

This slim adapter features an M37x0.75 thread, which is common for smartphone lens filters, allowing you to attach various filters and lenses such as close-up lenses for focus adjustment, ND filters, color filters, and PLC filters.

For example, when using a camera for 3D printing or monitoring tropical fish, the subject may not come into focus due to the camera’s minimum focusing distance. Since these cameras are designed with a fixed focus, modifying them to focus on such subjects usually requires disassembling and modifying the camera.

However, by using this adapter, you can utilize close-up lenses to adjust the focusing distance, making it much easier to focus at much shorter distances.

Additionally, if you’re using a Wyze Cam as a surveillance camera to view the outside through a window, you can minimize glass reflections by combining it with a PLC filter, which is a type of polarizing filter.

For those who prefer to use the camera on its own without a mount, the second plate comes in a version that covers the front of the camera.

Notes

・ I recommend turning off the status light and infrared illuminator, as they may cause lens flare.
・ The edges of the adapter can be easily trimmed with scissors, so if they interfere with the mount, please trim them to fit.
