Casa Milà “La Pedrera” Chimney

Description

Bring a piece of Antoni Gaudí’s architectural masterpiece into your home with this functional model inspired by the iconic Casa Mila (La Pedrera) chimney.

The model was carefully shaped to closely resemble the real chimney, capturing its distinctive openings, flowing surfaces, and sculptural presence while adapting it for 3D printing.

I modelled this version as a small decorative object that can also be used as a night light or incense holder. The hollow base is sized to fit an LED tealight, creating a warm glow through the openings, while the same base can also hold the included incense insert for a more atmospheric display.

Design Features

• Accurate Architectural Form: Carefully modelled to resemble one of Casa Milà’s famous rooftop chimneys, with flowing curves, sculptural openings, and Gaudí-inspired organic geometry.
• Optimized Geometry: Designed with clean, sweeping curves that respect the organic nature of Gaudí’s original stonework while being optimized for no-support printing.
• Dual-Function Base: The hollow interior is designed to fit an LED tealight to cast dramatic, warm shadows, or the included insert to hold an incense stick, allowing the smoke to draft up and out through the chimney openings.
• Texture Versatility: The smooth, flowing topology works well in Marble PLA for a stone-like finish, or with Fuzzy Skin enabled for a rougher handmade ceramic effect.

Usage & Safety Notes 

• Use LED tealights only. Do not use real flame candles inside the print.
• For incense use, make sure the burning incense does not directly touch the plastic. The insert features a twist-lock mechanism to secure it firmly into the base.
• Ensure the incense stick is seated deeply and perfectly vertical so the burning tip does not touch the interior plastic walls. Never leave burning incense unattended.
