Rubber Band Powered Boat

Whether you're cruisin' down the river through a jungle, at a lake or just playing in the bathtub this tiny little boat is sure to bring the fun. This design was inspired by rubber band powered planes I'm sure all of us have played with, but with a twist … haha. This tiny little center console uses 4 main pieces the boat body, the Top, Propeller shaft and Propeller. With the rubber band fully wound up it runs for 3-5 seconds about one 3 foot circle.

Operation:

Once assembled hold the boat in one hand and spin the propellor counterclockwise until the rubber band gets very tight without letting the propellor go hold the boat and prop and place it in water and let it go! 

Assembly: 

Remove all part off build plate and remove tree supports.

you may need to run a drill bit into the hole on the boat to clear any left over material from the supports. 

Glue Propellor to Prop shaft they fit into each other with a tongue and groove type set up. 

Then hook the rubber band onto the hook on the inside of the Bow.

Once glue on prop shaft is dry insert it into the boat and hook the rubber band to hook on the Prop shaft. 

Finally you can glue the Top on to the boat.

Tools needed:

Rubber band 

Super glue (gel kind works best for me)

Possibly some light sanding on the shaft and inside hole for the propellor shaft.

Possibly a drill bit to claer boat prop shaft hole.
