Description

Boost Me (for free)

If you like the design, do me a solid and boost me!  It costs you nothing and it makes us both feel good!  That and I really appreciate it.

Catan enthusiasts, if your island adventures have grown too routine, discover the Gold Field. Officially released by Mayfair Games with Seafarers and also included in Explorer's & Pirates.

Originally designed for the Snapmaker U1, I've included the P1S profile because… well… you can't upload models meant for anything but the Bambu ecosystem.  To download the U1 profile, Click “Download CAD/STL Files”, then open the file labeled Catan - Gold Field - U1.3mf in Snapmaker Orca.

Recommended for multi-toolhead printers but will print fine with a single nozzle system.  If printing this using a single toolhead, expect to have substantial poop/waste.

Key features that transform your game:

  • Easy setup: Swap any tile for the Gold Field hex. For extra complexity, implement the rule that initial settlements cannot be built directly adjacent to it.
  • Resource boost: When the Gold Field number is rolled, adjacent settlements produce one resource of your choice; cities produce two.

Enhance it further with popular options:

  • Dessert Gold Mode: Replace your dessert tile with the Gold Field and rolling 7 produces gold as well as the standard Robber rules.

What makes it a must-play:

  • Setup: Replace any non-producing hex (like the desert) with the Gold Field hex. Assign a number token (anything but 7). The robber starts there—no initial builds bordering it.
  • Production power: Bordering settlements grant one resource card of choice; cities grant two (mix or match).

Pro tips for maximum thrill:

  • For a fun scenario, have the Gold Field hex at the very centre of the map and everyone MUST place their starting settlements on the coast.  Race to see who can get to the gold first.

The model is set to .16mm layer height but you can print faster by setting it to .20mm.

Most number tokens SHOULD work but if you're finding they're not, print new tokens using my other model here.
