Project ZERO_XU_DESIGN: RS Wheel Hub

320mm Round Steering Wheel DIY Kit

Project Overview

  • This DIY project is designed to create a 320mm round steering wheel compatible with the Logitech G RS Wheel Hub.
  • The design is ideally suited for casual racing, rally, and drifting.

⚠️ IMPORTANT

  • Read Carefully: Please read this guide and the attached manual files carefully.
  • Printer Requirements: This project cannot be completed on small-scale printers like the A1 mini; a printer with a build volume of >250mm is required.
  • Version Selection: The package includes files for both the Standard Edition and the Upholstery Ready Edition; please ensure you select the correct version and its corresponding files.
  • Tutorial Note: This project does not include tutorials for the leather upholstery process.

🛠️ Technical Specs & Advice

  • Material Selection: To ensure structural strength and heat resistance, high-performance filaments such as PETG-CF, PETG, or PA-CF are recommended for functional parts.
  • Avoid PLA: Please avoid using standard PLA to prevent deformation under high-torque force feedback.
  • Support Technique: It is recommended to use incompatible materials for support interfaces (e.g., a PETG and PLA combination) to ensure smooth overhang surfaces and maintain correct tolerances.
  • Insert Installation: Please use a soldering iron to install the heat-set inserts.
  •

📐 Carbon Fiber Customization

  • Custom Order: The central carbon fiber plate must be custom-ordered from a professional provider; cutting files are included in the package.
  • Testing Part Only: The provided printable "incomplete" center plate is for testing and prototyping purposes only; do NOT use it for the final assembly.

⚖️ Skills & Disclaimer

  • DIY Skills: Building this steering wheel requires DIY skills and problem-solving abilities; assembly is recommended for those with prior DIY experience.
  • Warranty & Safety: The author is not responsible for any warranty voidance or personal injury resulting from the use of this accessory. Use at your own risk.
  • Not for Real Cars: This project is NOT for real-world automotive use!
