Originally an elephant trainer, his mother dreamed of a white elephant entering her embrace at his birth, accompanied by a shower of flowers from the heavens. Later, he was converted and ordained by Aniruddha, a disciple of the Buddha, eventually attaining Arhatship. Leading a thousand Arhats, he resided in the Sanghāta Continent, protecting the Dharma and educating sentient beings.
