The gears themselves always spin freely.
The difference is in the mounting system:
- One side uses a pin axle, allowing the gear to spin smoothly
- The opposite side uses threaded bolts, locking the gears firmly in place
This creates a fun mechanical feel where some gears rotate freely while others stay fixed for stability and structure.
Assembly Instructions 🔧
- Take one pin axle and slide a gear onto it.
- Insert the axle through the cube body and attach another gear on the opposite side.
- Screw on the top cap to secure the spinning assembly.
- Take a threaded bolt and screw one gear onto the left side.
- Thread another gear onto the right side until tight.
Done — your Fidget Gear Cube is ready! ⚙️🔥
Recommended Print Settings
- 0.2mm layer height
- No supports
- PLA / PLA Silk recommended
- 3 walls for better durability
- Print slow for smoother gears
