Used Charger

I used the following MagSafe charger:

The bottom part with the adhesive pad was sawed off and then glued to the printed mount with superglue. Works astonishingly well. Superglue and improvisation, the two cornerstones of modern engineering.

Printing Notes

• Printing with support structures required
• recommended material: Carbon PLA / CF-PLA
• normal PLA does not reliably withstand heat in the car long-term

I printed the mount myself with Carbon-PLA. Especially in summer, the interior quickly gets hot, and normal PLA will eventually warp or become soft.

Installation

1. Carefully pull the radio slightly out of the slot
2. Clip on the mount
3. Push the radio back in
4. Done

No drilling or visible modifications necessary.

Note

Installation is, of course, at your own risk. Please work carefully when removing the radio and use appropriate tools. German premium vehicles react to raw force about as calmly as a printer to moist filament.
