Coptic Orthodox Oblation (Orban) Stamp

‘Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!’ - John 1:29

This is a liturgical stamp (seal) used for the preparation of the sacrificial bread (orban/oblation) offered during the Divine Liturgy of the Coptic Orthodox tradition. The seal features the hymn of the Trisagion (Ⲁ̀ⲅⲓⲟⲥ ⲟ̀ Ⲑⲉⲟⲥ, ⲁ̀ⲅⲓⲟⲥ Ⲓⲥⲭⲩⲣⲟⲥ, ⲁ̀ⲅⲓⲟⲥ Ⲁ̀ⲑⲁⲛⲁⲊⲟⲥ) available in translated versions across multiple languages. 

The Trisagion unites the heavenly visions of Isaiah 6:3 and Revelation 4:8, where angels eternally cry ‘Holy, Holy, Holy’ before the throne of God. In Oriental Orthodoxy, this celestial hymn is brought down to earth at the foot of the Cross, where Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus are said to have chanted it while burying the Holy Immortal Savior. This seal reminds us that by receiving the Eucharist, we are not just remembering an historical event; rather, we are actively participating in the Holy Immortal life-giving grace of our saviour that St Paul describes as being clothed upon the believer. This grace acts as a protective and transformative armor of light that puts sins we fall into in remission.

Features

1. Language Specific: The seal is legible in the language of choice.
2. Orientation Cross: To assist the baker, a cross is placed at the head of the seal. This is visible on both the bottom (the stamping surface) and the top (the handle side) for easy alignment.
3. Focus Verse: The top of the stamp includes a short verse to aid the baker's focus and prayer during the sealing process.
4. Easy-Release Design: Integrated recesses are built into the model to ensure easy removal of the stamp from the dough.

Printing Recommendations

1. Filament: It is preferred to use PLA or other food-safe filaments. 
2. Layer Height: 0.12mm is highly recommended. You can go up to 0.16mm, but we found that at 0.20mm, the dough tends to stick to the stamp more frequently. Lower layer heights create a smoother surface that releases the dough more easily.
3. Strength: 30% infill and 5 wall loops for durability.
4. Color: This is designed as a multi-color print. If printing in a single color, simply set all filaments to the same color (note that this will effectively hide the focus verse at the top).
