Thanks for your support and motivation
This modular plant support is the perfect solution for tomatoes, peppers, and all climbing plants in the garden or greenhouse. The system combines 3D printing with the stability of standard electrical installation pipes (EN16) :)
Why this system?
- Fully Modular: Your plant grows? No problem! Simply add more tiers as the plant gets bigger.
- Cost-Effective: Instead of buying expensive complete systems, you use inexpensive EN16 pipes from the hardware store, which you can cut to your desired height individually.
- The printed parts are lightly modeled but very stable due to their shape. Lower filament consumption and fast printing.
- Easy Printing & Assembly: The ring consists of three identical segments that are assembled without tools.
- Stable & Secure: The printed ground stakes provide a firm hold in the soil, while the rings securely support branches and fruits.
Technical Details:
- Pipe Diameter: Optimized for standard EN16 rigid insulation pipe.
- !!! For everyone who doesn't have the possibility or desire to get an EN16 pipe, printable pipes have been added. These can be scaled in the Z-axis in the slicer to the desired length!!!
- Ring Design: 3-part plug-in system (no glue needed).
- Print: Tested in PETG (recommended for outdoor/greenhouse applications due to UV and heat resistance).
1. Printing: Print three ring segments per tier. For the base, you also need the corresponding 3 ground stakes. Recommendation: Use PETG or ASA for a long lifespan in the sun.
2. Prepare pipes: Get EN16 electrical installation pipes from the hardware store. Cut them to the desired height with a saw. You can always swap the pipes for longer ones or extend them with couplers.
3. Assemble the rings: Insert three identical ring segments into each other until they form a closed circle.
4. Insert the cut EN16 pipes into the ring parts from below (Depending on the design, these might fit a bit tightly. If necessary, rework the pipes with sandpaper)
5. Place the ground stakes onto the pipes and insert them into the soil.
6. If necessary, assemble another tier and place it onto the lower tier without ground stakes.
As the plant grows, you can simply add new rings from above without damaging the plant.
