Boost Me (for free)

If this gave you a laugh or brightened your backyard, please consider giving it a Like and a Boost! Your support helps me keep the "squirrely" ideas coming. Don't forget to upload a photo—I’d love to see your local squirrels auditioning for the role!

🐴 The "Squirrely Horse" | Hang-and-Laugh Squirrel Feeder

Why settle for a boring backyard when you can have a squirrel-powered comedy show? This 3D-printed feeder is designed to give your local squirrels a majestic (and hilarious) makeover. When they reach inside for a snack, they instantly transform into a tiny, bushy-tailed stallion.

📸 Why This Design?

  • The "Costume" Effect: The internal cavity is perfectly positioned so that as a squirrel eats, the horse head sits right over their shoulders.
  • Zero-Hardware Mounting: No drills? No problem. I designed this with a dedicated mounting hole specifically for shoestrings, twine, or paracord. Just thread it, tie it to a branch, and you’re ready to go.
  • Interactive Fun: Because it hangs by a string, it adds a bit of a "challenge" for the squirrels, keeping them engaged (and keeping the viewers entertained).
  • Size: It's small enough to fit on a 256mmx256mm plate but you can absolutely resize it to be larger if you have a H2 series printer.

🛠️ Print & Setup Tips

  • Materials: I highly recommend PLA+, PETG, or ASA for this print. Since it lives outdoors, these materials will handle the sun and rain much better than standard PLA.
  • Installation: Simply thread a shoestring through the integrated hole, fill the "muzzle" with peanuts, corn, or sunflower seeds, and hang it from a sturdy branch or hook.
  • Safety: Always check your print for any sharp "zits" or support remnants near the opening to keep our furry friends safe!

🛡️ Squirrel Safety First! 🐿️

As a wildlife lover, safety was my number one priority when designing this collection.

  • Oversized Opening: The entry hole and internal cavity are designed to be more than big enough for standard squirrels. There is plenty of clearance, ensuring they can easily slip their heads in and out completely unhindered.
  • Quick & Easy Exit: The interior is spacious and restriction-free, so if a squirrel gets startled, they can back out instantly and make a quick getaway without getting stuck.
  • Maker Note: For maximum safety, I always recommend checking your finished print and lightly sanding down any sharp edges or rough support remnants around the opening before hanging it up!

my concern is it might not be big enough for a squirrel to fit its head through. Maybe if it’s made diagonally. I know it could be made a little smaller and still work. Let me do some measuring
