Mercedes 190E Power Headrest Track Replacement

Is your classic Mercedes-Benz 190E making a clicking or whirring noise when you try to adjust the headrest, but nothing is moving? Over the decades, the original plastic guide housings and retaining clips in the seatback become dry and brittle, eventually snapping and failing to hold the adjustment rod in place.

This project provides reverse-engineered replacement parts for the powered headrest guide assembly, allowing you to restore full functionality to your electric seats. Photos show original broken white parts and new printed black parts. You will need to reuse the spring, retaining pin, gear and housing.

Print Recommendations:

• I used Sunlu Easy PA and YXPOLYER Support for PA as support interface.
• Material: You can try ASA or PETG which will probably work just fine. The best part is if it fails, you can try again in a stronger material. PLA is not recommended as it will warp in a hot cabin. 
• Walls/Infill: Use at least 4 walls and 40% gyroid infill for mechanical strength.

Compatibility:
Primary fitment for the Mercedes-Benz W201 (1984–1993 190E/190D). May also fit other contemporary chassis like the W124 or W126 with similar powered headrest mechanisms.
