Inspiration & Design

This model is a high-fidelity 3D recreation of Ame no Habakiri, the legendary sword wielded by Kozuki Oden. Known as the blade that can "cut the heavens," this design captures the katana’s distinct aesthetic, featuring the white sheath, ornate floral guard (tsuba), and characteristic red and gold accents. Before beginning this project, consider that Enma is also available, allowing for the completion of Oden’s iconic twin-sword set.

Technology & Features

Equipped with the MakerWorld Motion-Activated Sound & Light Kit, this katana integrates:

  • Authentic One Piece sound effects, including unsheathing and slashing audio.
  • Dynamic LED lighting with color profiles inspired by the anime's "Haoshoku Haki" effects.
  • Dual Control: Motion-based activation supplemented by manual button control and mobile app integration.

3D Printing & Materials

  • Total Length: 103 cm.
  • Materials: A comprehensive list of recommended filaments and colors is provided in the Bill of Materials section.
  • Assembly Requirements: The model is designed for a hardware-free assembly; no glue is required for the main structure, though it may be used for additional reinforcement if desired.
  • AMS Compatibility: The AMS is only necessary for the bottom segment of the blade (1 plate); all other components are optimized for standard printing.

Assembly & Structure

The internal architecture of Ame no Habakiri is built very similarly to Enma, utilizing the same modular and detachable design. This ensures the electronics remain accessible while maintaining structural integrity for cosplay or display. Because the construction process is nearly identical, the step-by-step assembly guide provided in the Enma YouTube video serves as a direct reference for this build.

Highlights

  • The perfect companion piece to the Enma project, completing the "Great Grade" duo.
  • A sophisticated display or cosplay asset for One Piece enthusiasts seeking functional electronics.

Printing Tips

  • Surface Finish: Printing golden ornaments individually often yields superior results depending on the specific filament brand.
  • Orientation: Vertical thin components require stability. It is recommended to use a high-adhesion build plate (such as a SuperTack bed) or add custom supports. While laying parts flat is possible, it may impact surface quality.
  • Structural Integrity: For users intending to use the katana for active cosplay, applying adhesive to every joint is recommended for maximum durability.
