Description

🪵 PLAstic Meets Wood  …. with Coffee stir sticks

📦 Materials for this specific model

For this version you will need:

  • 34 wooden Coffee stir sticks
  • Size: 140 × 5 × 1mm

Creative Home Décor combining 3D printing with real wood elements

Bring together the best of both worlds: PLA printing and natural wooden materials.
This collection transforms simple everyday wooden items into stylish, functional, and decorative home accessories.

From wooden spatulas, toothpicks, coffee stir sticks, to recycled wooden building blocks – each model is designed to combine lightweight 3D printed parts with real wood for a unique result.

🖌️ Concept

This small collection is all about merging PLAstic meets Wood.

The goal is simple:
Create elegant, practical designs where real wood enhances 3D printed structures, giving them warmth, texture, and stability.

The printed parts and wooden elements are usually plug-and-play assembled.
Depending on the exact wood dimensions, you may need:

  • A little pressure
  • A small amount of glue
  • Or both

⚠️ Important:

Wood dimensions can naturally vary depending on manufacturer and material quality.
If parts fit tighter or looser, this is not a design flaw, but a natural property of real wood.

⚙️ Printing Details

All models are designed to be:

  • Easy to print
  • Low filament consumption
  • Beginner-friendly

Recommended filament:

I used Bambu PLA Matte in:

  • Desert Tan
  • Caramel
  • Dark Chocolate

These colors complement the wood beautifully and create a premium decorative look.

❤️ Practical Uses

Depending on the model, your finished piece can serve as:

  • Storage containers
  • Decorative vases / plant pot covers
  • Pencil holders
  • Kitchen utensil organizers
  • Desk accessories
  • Bathroom storage
  • Creative gift ideas

Load capacity:

Strength depends largely on the type and quality of wood you use.

🌳 Compatible Wooden Materials in the Collection

I experimented with common household wooden items, including:

  • Toothpicks (2mm diameter)
  • Coffee stir sticks (140 × 5 × 1mm)
  • Wooden spatulas / craft sticks
    • 150 × 18 × 1.5mm
    • 200 × 25 × 1.5mm
  • Recycled toy building blocks
    • Narrow: 100 × 17.5 × 5.5mm
    • Wide: 105 × 23 × 8mm

🔧 Assembly Tips

Some models assemble very easily, while others may require a little patience to align opposite slots correctly.

Pro Tip:

If it doesn’t fit perfectly on the first try:

  • Stay patient
  • Adjust gradually
  • Use slight pressure evenly

No rage-quitting required. 😄
