RC Plane Launch Dolly
This launch dolly is designed to make taking off larger RC aircraft safer and easier than hand-launching. The open-frame design keeps weight low while providing a stable platform for takeoff rolls on paved/improved surfaces. Felt padding on the upper rails helps protect your aircraft during launch.
The dolly uses four independently rolling wheels with ball bearings for smooth tracking and low rolling resistance. Its simple modular construction makes it easy to print, assemble, and customize for different aircraft sizes.

Required Hardware
To complete the build, you will need:
- 8x M5 screws (between 14mm-20mm length) for frame
- 4x M5 screws 30mm length for axles
- 4x M5 nylon lock nuts
- 4x 605ZZ bearings
- 1/2" Adhesive-backed felt
Assembly
- Install the four 30mm M5 wheel axles into the left and right frame pieces
- Assemble the four frame pieces with 8x M5 screws
- Insert 605ZZ bearings into wheel hubs. This will be a tight fit and require shaving the seams off of the inside of the hub with a hobby knife
- Install wheels onto axles and secure with M5 nylon lock nuts
- Attach adhesive-backed felt onto top of frame rails
- Enjoy easier launches and smoother takeoffs!
