Description

The TrailGuard Rear Mud Shield is a lightweight, PETG‑friendly fender designed to protect your seat tube, linkage and drivetrain from trail spray and grit. Although originally shaped around an Orbea Rise 29”, the clean geometry makes it compatible with a wide range of modern full‑suspension frames.

Printed in two parts on a single build plate, the shield joins along a reinforced mid‑section. Expect a bit of cleanup in the seam area—this is intentional, as the strongest bond is placed exactly where the fender straps to the frame. The shield fits tubes up to 30 mm diameter. On smaller frames or 27.5” bikes, you can usually flex it slightly to fit. Ideal for riders who want a minimal, functional guard that keeps mud away from the suspension and drivetrain without adding weight or complexity.

Version 2 notes

The second version a updated joining of the two main pieces. It now needs glue, but will be much easier to make a clean joint. There will be a total of 7 latches that you will need to glue from the inside and depending on type of glue, you might need serveral clamps to keep the latches while the glue is drying. You can still print version 1 of you want the old zigzag connection.

Installation

  • Clean the connection surface from support structure with a knife
  • The shield has opposite tabs in the joins match these up and force them together.
  • You can put some glue on the tabs and the seam if preferred
  • Mount to the rear triangle using four zip‑ties. This will also hold the two parts togheter
