Apache 1800 humidor

Description
In the cigar world, there’s a growing trend known as the “Tupperdor” — using airtight plastic containers to create a durable, low-maintenance humidor. Most are made from simple food-storage containers, but I wanted something tougher, more secure, and built for real-world use.
This project transforms a Apache 1800 Protective Case into a rugged travel humidor designed to protect your cigars anywhere life takes you. Inspired by high-end hard cases like Pelican, the Apache 1800 provides an airtight seal, crush-resistant shell, and serious durability while remaining affordable and easy to customize.
The goal behind this build was simple: create a humidor that not only keeps cigars fresh, but also keeps them safe. Whether you’re traveling, storing cigars in a garage or workshop, spending weekends on the boat, or just want a humidor that can handle rough environments, this setup is built for it. The hard-shell case protects against impacts, moisture, and everyday abuse while maintaining a stable environment for your cigars.
If you’ve ever worried about damaging your cigars during travel or wanted a humidor that can survive beyond the living room, this rugged “Tupador” build might be exactly what you’re looking for.
