Description
2x4 Edge-to-Edge H Connector (Custom Design)
I couldn’t find any existing connectors that allowed 2x4 lumber to stack thin edge to thin edge (1.5" side to 1.5" side)—so I designed my own.
This H-style connector is built specifically to securely join two 2x4s vertically along their narrow edge, making it ideal for custom framing, vertical extensions, and creative woodworking projects.
Key Features:
- Designed for standard 2x4 lumber (actual thickness: 1.5")
- Allows edge-to-edge stacking (2" side connection)
- Connector depth matches a 2x4 (1.5 inches) for a flush fit
- Wider overall profile than a 2x4 for added strength and stability
- Includes 8 countersunk screw holes (2 per section)
- Tapered design allows wood screws to sit flush
- Snug fit with slight tolerance for easy insertion
Notes:
- Depending on your printer and material, minor sanding may be needed for a perfect fit
- Recommended to print with high infill (40%+) for structural strength
- Best used with wood screws for a secure hold
