Standing Unicorn Piggy Bank
Print Profile(1)

Description
Standing Unicorn PiggyBank is a kawaii-style coin bank designed as a small collectible toy-like figure.
The original concept was created from an AI-assisted prompt focused on a vinyl toy / chibi aesthetic: oversized head, compact rounded body, short cylindrical legs, soft shapes, simplified mane, small horn, and an adorable cartoon expression.
The base mesh was generated using Hunyuan3D 3.0, but the model was not printed directly from the AI output. It required a full maker workflow to turn it into a functional and printable object.
The final model includes:
- A hollow body for storing coins
- A threaded opening
- A matching screw cap
- Manually adjusted supports for FDM printing
- A compact standing pose
- Rounded kawaii toy-style proportions
This project explores how AI-generated forms can be used as a creative starting point, while still requiring traditional maker work to become a real, printable, functional object.
Workflow
The model was created using the following workflow:
- Concept and prompt design — ChatGPT
The visual direction was defined as a kawaii unicorn piggy bank with a vinyl toy / chibi style. - Base 3D model generation — Hunyuan3D 3.0
The initial unicorn mesh was generated from the AI concept. - Mechanical design — Fusion 360
The threaded opening and screw cap were designed to make the object work as a functional piggy bank. - Post-processing — Blender
The model was cleaned, hollowed, refined, and combined with the functional threaded parts. - Slicing and support optimization — Bambu Studio
Supports were manually adjusted to allow the model to print in one main run with optimized support placement.
Author’s Note
This model continues as a part of an experiment in combining AI-generated 3D design with real maker post-processing.
The AI created the first shape, but the final printable object required additional work: hollowing, threading, cap design, mesh cleanup, support strategy and slicer optimization.
In short:
AI generated the idea. The maker workflow turned it into a real object.
