Tired of dealing with the Bowden tube on your Kobra S1 printer? Here’s the solution: I’ve designed an adapter/mod to replace the little piece of junk that holds the Bowden tube to the extruder with an ECAS connector that works perfectly

I printed it in ASA for greater strength and durability, using a 0.25 nozzle and a 0.08 layer height. But I’ve also tried printing it with a 0.4 mm nozzle and a 0.20 mm layer height, and it works perfectly. So it’s your choice — I’m leaving both files available for download (Maybe it´s better quality with 0.25 nozzle)

I’ve designed a coupling that lets you mount the mentioned ECAS connector on our extruder to improve the quality of maintenance and jam-clearing repairs, since it allows you to remove the Bowden tube in a much cleaner way (before it was almost impossible)

You can find this connector model ECAS04 in a common shops in internet, this is a link in Aliexpress: ECAS04 connector

To install the adapter, you just need to place it in the corresponding slot of the printed mod and set it upside down as shown in the photos. Finally, press it in so it seats fully and evenly. Here are the photos:

1.- We insert the ECAS connector into the printed mod

2.- We turn the mod with the connector upside down and place it on a flat, hard surface

3.- We press down. In the photo you can see me doing it with a finger, but it’s better to use the palm of your hand or a flat, hard surface to apply more force

4.- The connector should end up looking like this

Lastly, all that’s left is to replace the stock connector with this mod to get rid of the Bowden tube issues. This also prevents the tube from rubbing against the sharp edge of the printhead housing

Tired of dealing with the Bowden tube on your Kobra S1 printer? Here's the solution: I've designed an adapter/mod to replace the little piece of junk that holds our printer's Bowden tube to the extruder with an ECAS connector that works perfectly.

I printed it in ASA material for greater strength and durability, as well as with a 0.25 nozzle and a 0.08 layer height. But I have tried printing it with a 0.4mm nozzle and a 0.20mm layer height, and it works perfectly (better for my taste when printed with a 0.25 nozzle). So you choose; I'm leaving both files for download.

You can find these ECAS04 connectors in most online stores. Here's an Aliexpress link: ECAS04 connector

To install the adapter, you just need to place it in the corresponding slot of the created mod and set it upside down as shown in the following photos, finally press it in so it seats fully and evenly. Here are the photos:

2.- We turn the mod with the connector upside down and place it on a flat, hard surface

Lastly, all that's left is to replace the stock connector with this mod to get rid of the Bowden tube issues. This also prevents the tube from rubbing against the sharp edge of the printhead housing.
