Description
Universal retractable fender designed for under-saddle mounting, intended to offer lightweight and modular splash protection during daily or sports use. The prototype is printed in PLA, but for more stable long-term use, less deformable and more heat-resistant materials are recommended, such as ASA or similar technical materials.
The system shown is compatible with a CUBE/ACID saddle equipped with a bottom attachment with 2 M5 screws spaced approximately 41 mm apart, traceable to the Saddle Integrated system. The fender can be easily removed when not needed, keeping the bike clean and free of unnecessary clutter. the fender withstands steps like sidewalks, potholes, and manholes, but for higher gaps it probably detaches. I am working on more solid settings.
The structure is composed of modular elements: it is not mandatory to print exactly 3 sections, because the fender can also work with more or fewer pieces, depending on the desired length and the required level of protection.
Other fastening systems are also under development to make the fender compatible with more saddles and frames, thus increasing the universality of the model even on bikes without an integrated CUBE/ACID attachment.
