Description

3D Printed Diabolo 🎯

A diabolo (often called a Chinese yo-yo) is a classic juggling and circus prop. It consists of an hourglass-shaped spool (the diabolo) suspended on a string connected to two hand-held sticks. By moving the sticks rhythmically, players build momentum and perform intricate tosses, grinds, and catches.

Lightweight, durable, and built for long sessions of play, this 3D printed diabolo weighs just 173 g including the screws and hardware. The low weight makes it easy to control while still maintaining excellent stability and long-lasting spin. Designed for smooth performance and reliable tricks, it works great for both beginners learning the basics and experienced players practicing more advanced moves. Print your own and start spinning!

Perfect for outdoor fun and active play, this diabolo encourages movement, creativity, coordination, and skill-building. It’s great for spring days at the park, in the backyard, at school clubs, or anywhere you want to bring extra energy and imagination.

I initially modeled this diabolo for my friends who are learning diabolo in PE. They didn't want to spend 30+ dollars for a half-decent one, so I modeled on for them. I then saw the spring play competition, and decicded to join. I think this is a great example of how 3d printing can be used for practical things instead of that articulated dragon over and over.

This model requires a 5/16" × 2" bolt, nut, and washer for secure assembly. For users outside the US, an M8 bolt also works well.

My version was printed in Bambu PLA Basic, which I found durable enough for normal use and practice. Like most PLA prints, it may crack if dropped from a very high distance onto hard surfaces. For increased durability, you can raise the wall loops and infill settings or experiment with stronger materials such as PETG or other high-strength filaments.

For sticks i just purchased some cheap dowdles from my local hardware store and attactched string.
