Textiles, clothes, and shoes - so why not print your own glasses and then have an optician glaze them?! Try it out - the glasses were designed by me as an eyewear design professional and are easy to print with my Bambu printer
I recommend PETG as printing material
You can even fit the glasses frame with non-prescription sunglass lenses yourself. Simply search online for plastic sunglass lenses. You can cut them to size with a fine saw and file them precisely to the required shape and size. A paper template that you can stick onto the sunglass lenses for easier cutting is included in the downloadable data as assembly instructions. Please do not forget to add a V-groove to the contour edges of the sunglass lenses so that they hold well in the frame
If you do not want to fit the lenses yourself, or if you want prescription lenses in the glasses, then entrust this to your trusted optician. The glasses are designed so that an optician can fit them with your special lenses without difficulty
The easiest way to print the temple arms is in a straight shape. Then, immerse the temple ends in boiling hot water until the temple becomes soft and press the temple ends into the separate temple bending template that you print beforehand
For mounting the two temple arms to the center piece, you will need a piece of your 1.75 mm diameter filament wire as an axle. On the underside, you can secure the filament wire with adhesive in the frame or heat it slightly with a lighter and press it into the recess
It's also great that once you have a pair of lenses, you can print an infinite number of glasses in different colors and your graphic design ideas and reuse the lenses with them. Happy printing - the next summer is coming - and you will have your self-printed glasses with your lenses for the beach, ice cream parlor, and ... and ... and .... With them, you will steal the show from every other "sun-ray-banner"!
