The Perfect Banana Clip - Foliage Edition

Hey! :)

You know how much I love and design hair accessories, but this one was on my list for about half a year. I'm absolutely addicted to banana clips, and when I was younger, I wore nothing in my hair but banana clips for three years until my favorite one broke and I couldn't find another one up to my standards. If you don't know what a banana clip is, it's a type of accessory that creates very volumized and low-effort BEAUTIFUL ponytails in like, two seconds.

 It was way before I got into 3D printing, so let me tell you that when I started designing here, a banana clip was on my list for months. I was on a MISSION to design the perfect one with a very strict goals list to ace:

• Be pretty, obv
• Hold up the hair without loosening (note that my hair isn't very thick, and also it's not very curly near my head)
• Create volumized and stable ponytails
• Won't pull the roots or hurt the scalp while wearing
• Won't need any non-printable parts that you have to buy online
• And NOT BREAK EASILY

So I discarded like two whole projects and about 20 prototypes, figuring out how to approach it printing-wise, until this very week. I hope you like it as much as I do! 🥹

Profiles Note:

• This model comes in two different sizes to suit various hair types and thicknesses.
• The main size is the 15 cm version, and the mini size is designed to hold up thinner hair or to be used in half-up, half-down hairstyles.
• However, you shouldn't upscale the models since the spring's performance really depends on this specific thickness. Let me know if you need a bigger version!

Print Note:

• 0.16 mm layer height, 4 wall loops, 0% infills. 
• ONLY ARACHNE wall generator.
• Enable supports' generation, and enable outer brims.
• Clean all the supports carefully before using it!
