Design

This 3D printed fruit fly trap creates an inconspicuous, reusable helper especially suitable for kitchens, dining areas, and storage spaces. Instead of an open bowl or a purchased disposable trap, this model offers a clean and decorative solution that integrates well into everyday life. Its compact shape allows the trap to be placed directly where fruit flies frequently appear, for example, next to the fruit bowl, on the countertop, in a camper van, in a holiday apartment, or in a storage area

Application is simple: pour a small amount of attractant liquid such as apple cider vinegar, fruit juice, wine, or beer into the container, then add a drop of dish soap or liquid soap. The sweet and sour smell attracts fruit flies, while the soap reduces the liquid's surface tension. This prevents the flies from remaining on the surface, causing them to drown upon landing. It is also particularly helpful to remove overripe fruit promptly or store it in the refrigerator, as fruit flies are strongly attracted to it

Sealing the Print

I use this product for vases or other containers that need to be watertight Link

The application is simple: put some of the product into the container and then thoroughly swirl it around so that the inner surface is well coated

The excess can then be poured back into the bottle. I repeat the procedure after 8–10 hours to be on the safe side. With this, I have not had any water leakage, even with PLA
