Description

High quality, small, and minimalist coffee scales are too expensive, so I designed my own.

Dont use too much force when installing the display, the cables are fragile!

EspressiScale V2!

An espresso scale accurate to 0.1g. 

Built on an ESP32 platform. The scale features a 500g load cell and an HX711 for weight measurement, displayed on an OLED screen. It also includes a timer to track your espresso shots, flow-rate and battery indication.

OTA is supported, and additional features will be added upon request.

A soldering iron is needed.

NOTES

  • HX711 Sensor:
    The HX711 sensor is intentionally not completely fastened. I use it as a cable guide to keep the cables in place, which also helps protect the sensor from vibrations since it is somewhat sensitive.
  • Now with USB-C:

    Board listed in the BOM. Glued or double sided taped to the enclosure. Soldering this board together with the lilygo provided battery leads and the battery itself enables charging via USB-C.

 

 

New anti-slip mat!

Included in the BOM is a link to a 3M silicone non-slip mat. Ive found this to be perfect for this use case as its a the perfect combination of grip and vibration damping!

 

Small fix

Previously there was a drift issue. This was caused by the load cell wires themselves. To fix this, it now use screws mounted from the top instead of the bottom. This is visible in the model files and from top view. 

 

Note: The screws are a tight fit and  as long as you use the correct screws it should still be splash resistant.
