Boost me if this saved you space with your plastic bag storage
Ever had the issue of your plastic bag storage overflowing? I did. I have https://www.ikea.com/fi/en/p/variera-plastic-bag-dispenser-white-80010222/ and it was overflowing. Almost impossible to get new bags in or old bags out.
The Grocery Bag Roller saves 66% of space (if not more) by rolling up your bags. Now my bag storage had plenty of room left over and it also made it significantly easier to carry the bags to the store. I fit 3 bags comfortably in my pocket now rather than 1 (2 on a good day) that I normally would've forced in.
Features:
- Longer key
- Key threads through the hole out the end so it doesn't twist inside the housing.
- Easier to get the bag into the key by you being able to open the prongs wide.
- Housing that fits up to 15 liter bags.
- Supports everything below 15 liters as well.
- Tested on up to 15 liter bags as that's the standard size of bags we use in the Nordics.
- Easier storage
- Bags take up significantly less space in storage. I measured over 66% less space taken up with over 20 bags.
- Bags fit more easily into pockets or purses or backpacks, since bags are more air than anything when you just shove them into a pocket or purse or backpacks.
How to use:
- Fold your plastic bags 2 to 4 times over on the bag side (not handle side). How many times depends on the size of your bag. 4 times for a 15 liter bag
- Insert the bottom part of the bag in between the prongs on the key. Leave around 2-3 cm of bag on the other side.
- Slot the key into the housing making sure to thread the bag in the little slit as well.
- When the bag is completely through the slit, push the key through the hole on the other side so you go straight through.
- Start spinning the key and make sure the bag goes cleanly into the housing (Sometimes it likes to unfold towards the top).
- When the entire bag is rolled up, make sure the handles are sticking out a bit through the top of the housing.
- Pull the key out.
- Grab on to the bag and pull it out.
- Take an opening of the bag, spin it around once and then push it over the bag so it doesn't unfold in storage.
These steps take around 10 seconds to complete per bag once you've gotten a hang of it.
