What is the purpose of the "third tone" which is open on the back? It sounds the same with the third top hole covered / There is no sound with only the third whole unconvered (first two holes covered)

Is it possible that you forgot to close the channel? I just closed it with tape and gave it a blow - makes about the expected sound now.
