Magnetic Activity Board for PlayTab-Style Fidget Toys
This is a simple and practical 3D printed magnetic activity board designed as a base for PlayTab-style magnetic fidget toys / toddler activity modules.
My wife bought a few magnetic fidget toys for our child, but the original wooden magnetic board was surprisingly expensive — so I quickly designed this alternative in Fusion 360, added 8×2 mm magnets, printed it, and it worked great.
The board lets you place and rearrange compatible magnetic activity toys in a clean, stable layout. It is lightweight, easy to print, and a much cheaper DIY alternative to buying a separate wooden base.

Magnet Information
This model is designed for:
8×2 mm round magnets
- 8 mm diameter
- 2 mm thickness
For best results, check magnet polarity before gluing them in place.
I recommend using a strong glue and making sure every magnet is fully secured before use.
Important Safety Note
This model uses small magnets. Small magnets can be very dangerous if swallowed, especially for young children.
Please follow these safety rules:
- Adult assembly required
- Magnets must be glued securely
- Inspect the board regularly before use
- Do not use if any magnet becomes loose
- Do not leave young children unsupervised with the board
Use at your own responsibility.
Printing Notes
- Recommended material: PLA / PETG
- No supports needed
- Print flat on the bed
- Recommended layer height: 0.2 mm
- Use enough top/bottom layers for good stiffness
- Optional: print with higher infill if you want a stronger board
