UwU? A Boost helps turn filament into more questionable ideas and future designs. Thanks for the support! 💖

The original design is a great idea, but the ball + threaded neck is too weak when printed in PETG. The threaded section snapped quite easily when tightening.

I noticed the original print profile uses ABS, which likely works better due to its higher rigidity. However, for PETG, some adjustments are needed.

Here’s what I changed to make it durable for PETG:

• Rotated the ball part 90° (printed on its side) so the layer lines run along the screw instead of across it
• Increased wall loops to 5 for a much stronger outer structure
• Made the part effectively solid (no hollow interior)
• Used PETG at higher temperature (~250°C) with moderate cooling for better layer bonding
• Enabled tree supports from build plate only

I also slightly upscaled the ball to improve strength and grip in the socket.

After these changes, the part is significantly stronger and works reliably without snapping during tightening.

Overall: great design, but the ball joint needs reinforcement or different print settings when using PETG, especially for real-world use like bike mounting.
