KAKU 角 — Minimal MacBook Air Riser, 40° Ergonomic Pair

Two clean lines of black PLA. Forty degrees of perfect tilt. KAKU (角, "angle" in Japanese) is the most essential MacBook riser you'll ever print — a Japanese-inspired piece of desk architecture that lifts your laptop into perfect visual alignment with your external monitor. No screws, no rubber inserts, no plastic clutter. Just two slim brackets that disappear under your machine and let the screen take center stage. ✨

⚡ Why You'll Love It

  • Perfect monitor alignment 🖥️ — designed specifically to bring a MacBook Air / Pro screen to the exact height of a standard external monitor. No more visual jump between displays: your eyes glide naturally from one to the other.
  • 40° ergonomic tilt 📐 — calibrated for typing posture and screen visibility. The sweet spot between comfort and stability.
  • Prints in ~1 hour ⏱️ — each riser. A complete pair in roughly two hours of total print time.
  • Zero supports required 🚫 — clean geometry, fast slicing, no waste material.
  • Tested with PLA 🧵 — proven rigidity for full MacBook weight when used as a pair.
  • Pure minimal aesthetic 🖤 — disappears into your setup. The MacBook stands. The riser is silent.

⚠️ IMPORTANT — Always Print and Use as a PAIR

KAKU is engineered to work in a pair. Two risers, one per side. A single riser will physically hold the MacBook in position, but without the second one supporting the opposite side, the laptop is no longer stable on the desk and the use is strongly discouraged. Print 2 units before installing. No exceptions.

🛠️ Print Settings

  • Material: PLA (tested) — PETG also recommended for extra rigidity
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Infill: 30–50%
  • Supports: NOT required ✅
  • Print time: ~1 hour per riser
  • Quantity to print: 2 (one complete pair)
  • Print orientation: as oriented in the file — already optimized

📏 Compatibility

Designed and tested with MacBook Air . Works with most slim notebooks of similar form factor. The 40° angle is calibrated for an ideal screen-to-monitor alignment when paired with a standard 24"–27" desktop display on the same desk surface.

🎨 Design Philosophy

KAKU belongs to the Japanese-inspired Cipriani 3Design Studio collection — a family of objects built around restraint, geometry, and quiet utility. Like ORI, KAZE, and HOTARU, KAKU follows a single rule: remove everything that isn't essential, and let the angle speak. 角.
