Description

Soap Cutter for cutting soap slabs  up to 95mm wide. An adjustable stop that is held in by a 3d printable bolt and wing nut is included make soap bars up to a max size of 30mmx65mmx95mm.

Marking for sizes are in centimeters on the close side to the stop and inches on the far side.

The cutting arm is best printed in PLA due to PLA's rigidness and resistance to deformation. I printed the base and stop in petg for chemical resistance but PLA would probably work fine for that too. I would take the tension off the wire when the cutter is not in use regardless.

I used  a Number of parts from ali expess for this build, I will link them here. Feel free to substitute and suitable hardware you have on hand. The dowel Pin is a very tight fit as to make the cutting arm less sloppy you may have to tap it in with a small hammer.

(A guitar g string will also work)

The bold used is an m8 if you would like to use that instead of the printed bolt.

I designed this for my partner who is a home soap maker after seeing the prices of soap cutters. After buying materials for on sale filament for this project I came in at roughly half the price of the cheapest soap cutters of a similar style on amazon.

If you have any changes you think this model would benefit from please let me know in the comments.
