Universal Suspension Fork Bottle/Cargo Cage Mount

Elevate your bikepacking setup with this 3D-printable cage system designed specifically for mountain bike suspension forks. This mount allows you to carry up to 1L of water or gear securely on your fork lowers.

Features

  • Rock-Solid Mounting: Designed for use with Manitou (and similar) suspension forks. (42.5mm diameter, let me know if you need other diameter rings) without inlets for the screws/bolts
  • High Strength: Optimized internal structural geometry.
  • Heat-Set Ready: Uses M4 heat-set inserts for a professional, durable connection that won't strip like plastic threads.
  • Strap Compatible: Designed specifically to work with FixPlus or similar TPU straps for maximum grip.

Technical Specifications & Hardware

Securing bolts

  • 8x M4 Heat-Set Inserts

Short Bolts

  • 6x M4 Bolts (approx. 18mm)

Long Bolts

  • 2x M4 Bolts (cut to fit your specific fork diameter) around 50mm

Padding

  • Foam tape or rubber strip (inner tube) to protect fork paint and secure ring in place
     

Assembly Notes

  1. Prep: Press the M4 heat-set inserts into the pre-modeled holes on the holder.
  2. Protect: Apply a layer of foam tape or a thin rubber strip to the inside of the suspension rings to prevent sliding and protect your fork’s finish.
  3. Install: Clamp the rings around the fork lowers. Ensure the mount is positioned so it does not interfere with the tire or the brake rotor.
  4. Security: Always check bolt tightness after your first ride, especially in changing temperatures.

Tested in Winter 2026 conditions over several months. Holds up to a 1L insulated bottle with zero slippage/problem. Design has internal channels which make desing bit more robust after slicing. Uplaoded profile has slicing finetuned for maximal strength. Test version printed with Bambu PETG-HF (was better than CF insufed one). Annealing not suggested for this model as it makes it too brittle.
